To meet the growing demand, the companies will complement skills to create solutions for the Internet of Things.

Intel, the world leader in silicon innovation, and Dextra, a Brazilian software development company, announced today a partnership to expand the usage and contribute to the dissemination of Internet of Things (IoT) equipment, Real Sense and tablets from Intel.

Last week, the companies held a Tech Day, at which Intel engineers were able to show to Dextra professionals the operating details of many of its products. On the other hand, Dextra developers were able to discuss and plan new digital solutions to enable and promote the use of Intel devices.

The enormous potential of the partnership is evident when we consider the expanding ¬†projections in the use of IoT. According to Gartner, in 2016, we will reach the 6.4 billion mark of “things” connected, representing a 30% increase compared to 2015. This number is expected to reach 20.8 billion by 2020. This exponential increase in the use of connected devices will profoundly impact many areas, such as retail, manufacturing, logistics, education and health, among others.

“The collection of information done by connected sensors is only part of what needs to be made. It is also important to know what to do with this data” points out Bill Coutinho, Dextra Technology Director. “This partnership with Intel indicates the way forward and encompasses both the intelligence to develop products as well the intelligence to develop software for these products. One complements the other”, he concludes.
